Red apple juice is attracting attention
The Kissabel® apple (variety R201) is known around the world for its fruit pulp, which can vary from pink to red. The juice is just as attractive as the apple, mainly because its unique taste and a characteristic red colour ranging from violet to ruby red.
Both apple and juice have perfectly balanced sugar and acid values. The juice is often used for making cocktails. Consumers, including particularly demanding customers, are highly impressed by the red juice. Currently we are conducting further test runs and projects with R201.
By the way, the reason for the exotic red colour lies in anthocyanins - a type of pigment that plants naturally contain for the red and blue colouring of flowers, fruits and leaves. The anthocyanins give grapes, for example, and thus also wine, a characteristic colour and, together with other pigments, affect the colour of the leaves in autumn.
